Andy Murray, Jurgen Melzer Fall at Rotterdam Tournament

So soon after making a run to the Australian Open final, Andy Murray is on a losing streak.
The fifth-ranked Scot, seeded No. 2 in the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, went down without much of a fight—6-4, 6-1—to Marcos Baghdatis on Wednesday in the first round.
In his first action since having his bell rung in straight sets by Novak Djokovic in Melbourne for the Aussie title, Murray was broken five times in eight attempts, aced nine times and saw Baghdatis hit 24 of 29 first serves for winners.
Baghdatis improved to 3-1 all time against Murray with the victory, and improved to 5-2 on the year.
Murray wasn't the only highly-regarded player taking a swan dive on Tuesday in Rotterdam. The tournament's fifth seed, Jurgen Melzer, was whipped 6-2, 6-4 by Marin Cilic.
Cilic, who has tumbled from a career-best ninth last February to 28th this week, whipped the 11th-ranked Melzer with a massive second-serve advantage, hitting 16 of 25 for winners compared to just 9 of 25 by Melzer.
Cilic advances to face Viktor Troicki, who edged Jarkko Nieminen, 7-6 (4), 7-5 in Monday's first round.
Baghdatis will take on Spain's Feliciano Lopez, who took out Germany's Florian Mayer, 6-3, 6-4.
Other winners on Tuesday in Rotterdam included sixth seed Mikhail Youzhny, eighth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and French qualifier Benoit Paire, who upset countryman Gilles Simon, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
Ranked No. 136, the 21-year-old Paire saved break point 10 times in 14 chances to take the win over the 33rd-ranked Simon. Paire was last spotted in the second round of the US Open, making Lopez work five sets for a victory. Simon is the highest-ranked player Paire has ever defeated.
