HOME | QUESTIONS TO ASK | CURRICULUM INVENTORY | ECONOMIC STATS | LANGUAGE STATS Opinion Survey It is key to gather information on which specific education reform areas can be strengthened by adding international focus: world languages? high school reform? social studies? better teacher training? This means finding out what is currently being done in your state/community and where emerging needs are pressing. Many states began this process by sponsoring educator focus groups and surveys canvassing the state's population. Check their reports for specific information on how they conducted surveys, focus groups and other types of research (click on the name of the state in the sidebar under examples). It is easy to conduct your own state survey. Asia Society offers a free survey service to states that have been involved with the States Institute for International Education in the Schools. We will offer technical assistance in developing and posting on-line an opinion or public knowledge survey. We will deliver results in spreadsheet and MS Word formats.
