USMNT Watch: Hamid, Howard Make Key Saves in Victories

Two of the top netminders to wear the red, white and blue over the last year turned in terrific performances for their respective sides this weekend.
Bill Hamid allowed D.C. United to steal three points on Friday, while Tim Howard made a sensational save against Southampton on Saturday.

Hamid Leads D.C. United to Surprising Win
Against expansion side Orlando City on Friday, D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid made five key saves in his side's 1-0 victory at the Citrus Bowl.
One of his best saves came in the 33rd minute on Lions' defender Rafael Ramos, who attempted to finish off a move started by Kaka in the penalty area.
On the opposite side of the pitch, Orlando's Brek Shea made a spectacular goal-line clearance in the 68th minute. However, D.C. pulled off a surprising victory against an Orlando team that controlled the pace for the majority of the match thanks to a Luis Silva free-kick.
Elsewhere in Major League Soccer, Harry Shipp continued his terrific run of form with two assists in Chicago's 3-2 win over Toronto. Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore both played 90 minutes for the Reds.
Lee Nguyen scored from the spot in New England's 2-0 win over Colorado, Clint Dempsey started for Seattle and the duo of Gyasi Zardes and Omar Gonzalez went the full 90 in LA's loss to Vancouver.
