Sweden Keeper Andreas Isaksson Stops Lionel Messi with Bicycle Kick Save (Video)

Nor was it just any goalscorer. It was Lionel Messi. And it worked.
Here's what happened. Sweden hosted Argentina in an international friendly in Gothenburg, and despite Argentina winning 3-2, superstar all-world forward Lionel Messi did not score a goal.
He came agonizingly close, though. With the score already 3-1 in the first half, Messi latched onto a ball over the top of the Sweden defense and beat keeper Andreas Isaksson with a chip toward the goal.
Isaksson recovered quickly, though, and raced back to his line to clear. With all his momentum heading toward his own net, Isaksson needed to produce something special to kick the ball away.

Isaksson's heroics mattered little in the end. The score remained 3-1 until deep into second-half stoppage time. That's when Rasmus Elm pulled one back for the hosts and made the scoreline a bit more respectable at 3-2.
So, then, readers: Which overhead kick was more impressive? Garcia's was well placed and lethal, and it yielded an equalizing goal for Honduras (which later beat the U.S. 2-1).
But Isaksson added a degree of difficulty by running at full speed to take his. Plus, he faced the pressure of trying to stop Lionel Messi.
