Liga MX: Why American Fans Should Follow Mexico’s League

Tijuana hopes to secure their second league title this season. Last year, Xolos was the team that aligned more Americans in the tournament. This campaign will not be different.
Edgar Castillo returns to the backbone; he knows the league well, having spent some time with Santos Laguna, Tigres, San Luis, Puebla and América.
Greg Garza plays as a left-back and has already represented USA in the U-20 and U-23 squads.
In the midfield you have Joe Corona, who comes from the club's youth system, and 18-year-old Alejandro Guido, who has had great appearances with the U-17 and U-20 national squads. He debuted with Tijuana at the Copa MX last August.
Don't forget Esteban Rodríguez, another youngster that comes from the youth system and that has already played the U-17 FIFA World Cup.
Other American players that are trying to shine at the Liga MX are: Ventura Alvarado (América), DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco (Puebla), José Francisco Torres and Víctor Garza (Tigres), Herculez Gomez and Benjamin Joya (Santos).
So, on the one hand you have proven footballers, those that have already made a difference both in their teams and in the national team, like Herculez Gomez; on the other, young promises that can make it big, like Alejandro Guido.
Another thing to consider is that some of Mexico's top figures play at the local league; hence they are regulars with "El Tri."
