England World Cup Hotel Defended After Receiving Hammering on TripAdvisor

According to Charles Sale of the Daily Mail, Roy Hodgson will receive a far more flattering opinion of Rio de Janeiro's Royal Tulip Hotel when the FA reports to the Three Lions boss this week.
This comes after Sky Sports' Bryan Swanson recently travelled to the location himself in a bid to get to grips with some of the security issues around the location in the buildup to Friday's World Cup draw.
In his report, Swanson is quoted saying:
In 2010, armed bandits on the run from the police came from the hills, down to the hotel lobby and took 30 guests hostage. The bandits were arrested and three years on, the police are battling to keep control of the area.
In the same report, Colonel Paulo Borges Caldas of the Rio Military Police comments on the unrest over the location, stating "it's safe, especially for big events," and that "wherever you go you can have problems but we have a safe city and a safe event."
Some of those former guests leaving their thoughts on TripAdvisor clearly didn't place as much faith in the location, one user even going as far as to compare the Royal Tulip to a 1970s stay in the Soviet Union.
Other reviews were just as unfavourable:
It's in stark contrast to the issues England have had with their hotels in the past, considering that the Telegraph's Mark Ogden reported in 2010 that South Africa's Sun City was actually too swanky a location and could pose a risk in terms of WAGs distracting Fabio Capello's men at the highly-acclaimed resort.
