England Call Up Ross Barkley, Andros Townsend for World Cup Qualifying Matches

Hodgson's side are currently second in Group H with four matches left to play, with the fixtures on Sept. 6 and Sept. 10 pitting England against Moldova and Ukraine, respectively. England are currently two points off first-place Montenegro with one game in hand.
To that end, Hodgson has chosen to change some of the younger faces in his squad, with Barkley and Townsend the chief surprise names, despite both having enjoyed positive starts to the new season. Along with the Everton and Spurs youngsters, uncapped goalkeeper Fraser Forster is in the squad following Ben Foster's injury.
Daniel Sturridge also returns to the squad following his goalscoring start to the season, having been injured for the friendly game against Scotland in mid-August. His Liverpool teammate Raheem Sterling is also recalled to the squad, while Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha and Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have both been omitted, having featured against the Scots.
Elsewhere, Rickie Lambert retains his spot after scoring on his debut for England, while Wayne Rooney is also included after starting his first game of the season Monday night.
