David Beckham Open to England Recall, so Should He Get It? (Poll)

So then, should Uncle Roy call on the Spice Boy for one last hurrah? Sure, it's ridiculous, but with England struggling to qualify for the World Cup, it might not be as crazy as it sounds.
Beckham, that instantly recognizable icon of worldwide football, underwear fashion and fast food, turns 38 in May and last represented England in October 2009. In all, Beckham has played for England a record 115 times, and in his prime, he captained the Three Lions for six years.
These days, he's a bit-part player at Paris Saint-Germain after signing with the nouveau-riche French club (and giving his salary to charity) over the winter. Previously, he led the Los Angeles Galaxy to back-to-back Major League Soccer titles in America.
In an appearance on CNN World Sport this week, Beckham put his name forward for (re)consideration in the England team. From the Press Association (via FIFA.com):
One of the reasons why I've never retired from the England team is because if there's ever an opportunity to play for them again, then I'm available, he said. If there is any chance of me ever playing for my country again, I would never turn that down. Like I said, I'm almost 38 years old so the chances are very slight, but you never know.
We never know, indeed. With four matches left in qualifying, England trail Montenegro by two points in UEFA's Group H. The group winners advance automatically to the 2014 World Cup, with the runners-up likely entering the playoffs.
A recent 1-1 draw in Montenegro represented a missed chance for England to take control of the group. With England lacking inspiration in the closing minutes, manager Roy Hodgson must be on the lookout for some kind of pick-me-up.
