Club America Stuns and Surprises Atlante in Cancun

The game was a do or die for Club America in order to classify for the Mexican League and to classify in the Copa Libertadores.
Vicente Vuoso scored the first and only goal with an assist from Miguel Layun in 65 minutes. Vouso took advantage of an opening (the goalie was distracted) in the goal post to receive the ball from Layun and execute a direct kick into the goal post.
Pavel Pardo attempted to score a second goal for Club America within 94 minutes. Delgadillo made him repeat the intent and Pardo failed. Delgadillo then blew the whistle to end the game.
The game itself was very exciting with Atlante moving at a rapid but disorganized pace. Atlante attempted to score but Guillermo Ochoa (who is the goalie for Club America) blocked every attempt to score.
Club America appears to have been organized and disciplined in their gameplan. They were able to fairly distribute the ball and were consistent in their passes.
The club was able to play under intense pressure from the Atlante fans in the bleachers who were screaming their support for their team and insulting Club America.
Club America has already advanced in the Mexican League or La Liguilla and may advance in the Copa Libertadores. The only thing that is pending is a victory in the next game against Pumas.
The most valued player of the game was Guillermo Ochoa for his ability to deflect attempts by Atlante to score and Vicente Vuoso for his stunning goal.
