Bill Clinton Throws His Weight Behind the U.S. 2022 World Cup Candidacy

As the Honorary Director of the U.S. 2022 World Cup Candidacy since May 2010, he's been to South Africa and has been promoting the U.S. as a viable host.
He made a written declaration which states the following: "I support the candidacy of the United States of America to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup because I have been a direct witness to the bonds that unify people of different races, cultures, ages, and ideologies that are part of this sporting event."
The former President is expected to travel to Zurich, Switzerland to speak with the FIFA Selection Committee before it makes a decision.
Other personalities such as Drew Carey, Morgan Freeman, Spike Lee and Brad Pitt, have expressed support for the U.S. to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. While the USA is competing against countries such as Qatar and Australia, it appears that the supporters of the bid from America will continue.
The web page of the U.S. Bidding Committee has been going non-stop, at least in Miami, Florida, with one of the sports programs expressing their support for the USA.
The USA deserves to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup because the sport is maturing in this country.
People are playing soccer in the USA at an increasing rate, with clubs in schools and places of work. I have seen people practicing the sport in places such as Tropical Park here in Miami, as well as in the area of Kendall.
The sport is not exclusive to the upper class, as many people think. The growing presence of people from other countries where soccer is a pastime has contributed to the growth of the sport.
