Americans Abroad Wrap: Jozy Altidore and Brek Shea Look Set to Stay in EPL

On Monday, USMNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced his 30-man provisional roster for this summer's World Cup, which included 15 Americans who play abroad.
Among those were English Premier League players Jozy Altidore, Geoff Cameron, Brad Guzan and Tim Howard. From the Bundesliga, Klinsmann named Timmy Chandler, Fabian Johnson, John Anthony Brooks and Julian Green. From Liga MX, Joe Corona and DaMarcus Beasley were selected while Jermaine Jones, Aron Johannsson, Terrence Boyd, Mix Diskerud and Alejandro Bedoya were chosen from their respective European clubs.
On the transfer front, Oguchi Onyewu—who missed the U.S.'s World Cup roster—told the Daily Mail that he hopes to remain in England next season.
It was also reported this week that Brek Shea—who also missed Klinsmann's provisional World Cup roster—has interest from several Major League Soccer sides. But his agent told MLSsoccer.com (h/t Starsandstripesfc) that he was determined to stay at Stoke and prove himself in the Premier League.
Jozy Altidore was also in the news this week as the Sunderland Echo reported that Altidore had a positive conversation with Black Cats manager Gus Poyet and plans on returning to England next year, despite a disastrous campaign in 2013-14.
Finally, in England, it was reported by the Daily Mail that Southampton youngster Cody Cropper will be offered an extension on his contract.
