After an exciting and unexpected season of golf, we have finally reached the PGA Championship and the golf world is waiting with bated breath to see which golfer will crown his season with one of those all-important major victories. Will McIlroy finally find his rhythm? Will Woods place the cherry on top of his No. 1 comeback season? Will we see a second major for Scott, Rose or Mickelson? As if you were not already excited enough, read on for a preview of this weekend’s tournament.

The Favorites
Tiger Woods (7/2 odds via Yahoo Sports)
Despite being in stellar form this season, Tiger Woods is still looking for his first major since 2008. If the bookies are to be believed, this might be the one that he finally takes home, as he is the standout favorite after his win at the Bridgestone Invitational. However, the American has been the favorite for every tournament so far this year, and has thus far been unable to deliver. Will this be the one that finally changes his fortunes?
Phil Mickelson (12/1)
Straight off of a maiden victory at the Open Championship, Mickelson will be hoping to carry that championship winning momentum into this tournament. And he is the second favorite, behind Woods, to do so. History is not with him, as he has a record of only one win in 20 attempts.
Adam Scott (18/1)
Since his win at this year’s Masters, Scott suffered a slump of sorts, failing to win a tournament since, and coming a disappointing 45th at the U.S. Open. However, he bounced back at the Open to tie for third and has three career Top 10 finishes at the PGA Championship.
