Player to Watch: Lexi Thompson
Several players have the talent to win the 2014 women’s British Open, but few have the right mixture of skill and momentum that American star Lexi Thompson brings to the course this week.
The 19-year-old player has been on huge stages early in her career, but she has not been afraid of the limelight. After finishing third at the Evian Championship, she won the first major of 2014—the Kraft Nabisco Championship— and managed to finish seventh at the women’s U.S. Open.
Thompson took to Twitter to talk about her preparation heading into the British Open:
For a young player, Thompson is not afraid of critiquing her own work. After a lackluster round at last month’s U.S. Open, she told the USGA, via Randall Mell of GolfChannel.com, about what went wrong.
