Who Will Win Champions Tour Charles Schwab Cup?

The AT&T Championship will be held this week in San Antonio and the season ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship will be held November 3-6 from TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
The Charles Schwab Cup is a season long race and is presented to the golfer that has consistently performed well over the entire golf season. Points are allotted for each Champions Tour event and are doubled for the five major tournaments on the Champions Tour schedule, as well as the Charles Schwab Championship.
Allen Doyle won the first Charles Schwab Cup awarded in 2001. Since then it has been captured by a who’s who of the Champions Tour. Hale Irwin, Tom Watson, Jay Haas, and Loren Roberts all won the Charles Schwab Cup twice and Bernhard Langer was the cup holder in 2010.
Current Charles Schwab Cup points leader, Tom Lehman finished fourth in the rain-shortened Insperity Championship last week and was able to maintain a 400 point lead over second place Mark Calcavecchia, who finished in seventh place. Lehman has had a strong 2011 campaign with three wins and 11 top 10’s, in 19 starts on the Champions Tour.
With only approximately 500 points separating the first four spots on the points list and double points available for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, third place, Peter Senior and fourth place, John Cook are also within range of claiming the Charles Schwab Cup.
Although the golf season is winding down on the Champions Tour there is still a little work to be done to see who can hoist the Charles Schwab Cup Trophy and pocket the $1 million first place check.
