WGC Cadillac Championship 2013: Tiger Woods Shoots 65 and Leads After Round 2

Woods slugged out the first few holes on his second round, scrambling for par, but back-to-back birdies on holes four and five kept Tiger's momentum alive. Woods made two more consecutive birdies at the eighth and the ninth holes, making the turn at four under par, 10 under total.
He continued to blaze through the back nine with four birdies and a single bogey and finished his round at 13 under par, two shots clear of fellow competitor Graeme McDowell. Woods' errant tee shot on the par-four 14th resulted in a disappointing bogey and cost him the bogey-free round he had a chance to shoot.
Woods now heads into the weekend with the lead after having been out of contention for the past two weeks. He was eliminated in the first round at the WGC Accenture Match Play and had a poor showing at last week's Honda Classic. This week, Woods seems to have his game back in control, and his ball striking and putting are in good form.
With a two-shot lead, Woods is eyeing his second win on Tour this season; he won convincingly at the Farmers Insurance Open last month and looks to add another win under his name this week. Woods will be facing some tough competitors as he tries to get the job done. Graeme McDowell, Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker and Charl Schwartzel are all within striking distance of Woods, but given his history at this event, Tiger looks set for another victory.
