It's true the venue lacks the top players in the world, and big names like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will not be playing.
However, the field is made of a more diverse range of tour players who all have an equal chance to rise and shine this week in the heart of Texas.
After completion of the first round, Matt Every is the clubhouse leader at nine-under par. He torched the golf course during his first round with a blazing round of 63 that included nine birdies and not even a single bogey.
Hunter Hass shot a stellar 66 in the first round for second place at six-under par. Fredrik Jacobson along with Cameron Beckman, Jason Gore and Troy Matterson are all at four-under par, five back of the leader.
Matt Kutchar, being the consistent player he is, fired a two-under par 70, and will need to make up the ground on Friday's round.
