Next up is what every golfer really doesn't want to pencil in on the card, a score of double digits.
Well, even PGA Tour players can get a little off the short grass from time to time. Kevin Na is no exception to this "Murphy's Law" rule.
Na was cruising along quite nicely at the Valero Texas Open at one under par that is until he came to the ninth hole at the TPC San Antonio.
Kevin had a little bit of trouble right off the tee box slicing not one, but two drives so far right it took almost 10 minutes to find his ball. When they finally located his provisional or second tee shot, well, it was not in the best of lies I can tell you this golf fans.
On pgatour.com using their shot-by-shot feature, it read a little strange. Na really spent quite a few strokes and more than enough time in what was labeled 'Native Area'. Whatever a native area is, Kevin never wants to be a "native" of that area again.
After a few whacks at the ball Na finally got the ball up and out of the woods or native area if you will and got it near the green on his 13th shot. No that is not a typo, that actually says 13th shot.
Now that Kevin was actually back on the golf course, he got his ball on the green and one putted for a 16 on the hole.
Now Kevin did not set any sort of PGA Tour record with his 16. All be it a very large number to take on one hole.
The worst single-hole score at a PGA Tour event belongs to John Daly, who had an 18 on the par-5 sixth hole at Bay Hill in 1998. Ray Ainsley took 19 shots on the par-4 16th hole at Cherry Hills in the 1938 U.S. Open.
