Valero Texas Open: How Do You Follow the Masters After That Finish?

The tournament will not be without star power though. Six of the top 30 players on the money list will be playing this week at the Valero Texas Open: Martin Laird (6), Jhonattan Vegas (16), Spencer Levin (21), Adam Scott (23), Kevin Na (28) and Jimmy Walker (29).
It will also have three of the top 30 players in the world golf rankings in Scott, Laird and Geoff Ogilvy, as well as eight major championship winners and five of the top 10 from Augusta.
But still, how do you follow that finish at the Masters? That is a tough act to follow, to say the least.
The Valero Texas Open will need to have another great showing like in last year’s tournament, in which Adam Scott won by shooting a final-round 67 to come from two back of Fredrik Jacobson and take the victory at 14-under.
Jacobson set the bar for Sunday's round by firing a tournament low 65 on Saturday heading into Sunday's final round.
A few players you will want to watch for this week will be, of course, last year's Valero Texas Open champion Adam Scott, Jimmy Walker and Martin Laird.
Scott is coming off a great Masters week that saw him finish in a tie for second along with Jason Day. He is also the defending champion here in South Texas and will be tough to beat after a great showing at Augusta.
Walker finished in a tie for third at last year's Valero Texas Open after rounds of 70, 67, 70 and 69. Walker is a local boy around these parts in Texas and will most likely have a lot of gallery support all week long.
