US Women’s Open Golf 2012 Leaderboard: Na Yeon Choi and Top Performers

The competition knows what Na Yeon Choi’s dust tastes like after her blowout win in the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open.
Just by looking at the leaderboard, you wouldn’t be able to tell that Choi had never triumphed in a major golf tournament before. She defined domination finishing at seven-under par despite going one-over on the final day.
Steve DiMeglio of the USA Today reported that Choi was in shock after claiming victory on Sunday. She said:
I can't believe this. Maybe I can feel it when I get to Korea. But you know, I think I did a really good job (Sunday). I had really good patience, and I was very calm. I controlled my emotions really well.
Choi gave Se Ri Pak—a South Korean World Golf Hall of Famer—all the credit for her success. She continued (via USA Today):
Se Ri really inspired me to become an LPGA player. She inspired all the Korean players. My dream when I was 10 was just to be out here on the LPGA tour. And 14 years later I'm here right now, and I made it. My dreams come true. It's an amazing day today, and like I really appreciate what Se Ri did and all the Korean players did.
Amy Yang was the closest competitor to catching Choi. She finished the tournament four strokes behind at three under par.
No one else was even close. Not that Yang was close, but she was the only other golfer to even finish under par.
Sandra Gal was in striking distance going into the fourth round, but going two-over ended any hope of a comeback. It was the second day in row in which Gal had gone two-over, derailing the best shot at a major in her career.
