Tour Championship 2013: Ranking Top Contenders to Win FedEx Cup

Only the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings will play this event, which begins Thursday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The top five in the standings—No. 1 Tiger Woods, No. 2 Henrik Stenson, No. 3 Adam Scott, No. 4 Zach Johnson and No. 5 Matt Kuchar—are all guaranteed the $10 million if they win the Tour Championship.
Still, all 30 players still have a shot at the top spot. Nevertheless, I believe the champ will come out of the top five.
Here is how I rank the top contenders.
No. 3: Matt Kuchar
Since 2009, Matt Kuchar has been as steady a player as you're going to find on the PGA Tour. It is no surprise or coincidence that he is in the top five heading into the Tour Championship.
Kuchar is one of just players with multiple PGA victories this year and this is the first time in his career he's pulled off that feat.
Over the past three years, he hasn't finished lower than 18th in the FedEx Cup, winding up second in 2010.
He's been steady and solid in his FedEx Cup run and has never finished lower than 25th in the Tour Championship when he's qualified for the event.
No. 2: Henrik Stenson
Henrik Stenson has had a great season and he's closing strong.
Stenson finished 21st at the U.S. Open, was second at both the British Open and the WGC Bridgestone Invitational, and followed that up with a third-place finish at the PGA Championship.
Stenson was 43rd in the first leg of the FedEx Cup event, but threw himself into contention by winning the Deutsche Bank Championship. Stenson wasn't at his best form last week, but still managed to finish 33rd at the BMW Championship ...
