Tiger Woods Will Not Play in Honda Classic

Two weeks ago, Woods withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open midway through the first round. Now, Brian Biggane of The Palm Beach Post is reporting that the 39-year-old star will skip the Honda Classic, which tees off on Feb. 26.
Tournament officials then confirmed the report, per Ian Hest of ESPN West Palm:
Woods' injury history has been covered in detail over the past few years, and many thought his 2014 hiatus would help him return to 100 percent. Instead, he continues to be hassled by health problems.
In a statement on his website, Woods revealed that the issue relating to his Farmers withdrawal is unconnected to the back surgery he had last year:
This latest injury is not related to my previous surgery. I am having daily physical therapy and I am feeling better every day. Right now, I need a lot of work on my game, and to still spend time with the people that are important to me. My play, and scores, are not acceptable for tournament golf. Like I've said, I enter a tournament to compete at the highest level, and when I think I'm ready, I'll be back.
At this point, it's impossible to say when Woods will come back to competitive golf.
The first major tournament of the 2015 season—the Masters—is scheduled to run from April 9-12.
