Tiger Woods: Will He Defend His Title at the 2012 Chevron World Challenge?

As the 2012 season on the PGA Tour comes to a close, the top players in the world will gather one last time at the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, CA.
The limited field of only 18 golfers is headlined by big names like Tiger Woods, Graeme McDowell and Bubba Watson.
Tiger has won the Chevron World Challenge five times, accomplishing this endeavor most recently in 2011 when the golfing world watched as Woods stood over a slick six-foot putt on the 18th green for the win. The outcome was all too familiar for the fans who watched Tiger knock in the putt and unleash a triumphant fist pump.
This week, Woods will look to defend his title and perhaps walk away with the title a sixth time. He will have to be firing on all cylinders if he is to out-play the top golfers in the world.
Graeme McDowell, who beat Woods in 2010 in a playoff, is also on the prowl for the title, and I'm sure Tiger still remembers his painful loss to McDowell two years ago. U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson also has his eyes set on the grand prize, as does Nick Watney, who has played significantly well in the fall season.
Watney won the Barclays in August and followed that victory with another one at the CIMB Classic last month. His golf game has improved dramatically from his lackluster performance during the regular season, and he should be a formidable force to be reckoned with.
Ian Poulter is also another red-hot player entering this venue after a victory at the WGC-HSBC Tournament of Champions.
With his clutch putting and consistent ball-striking, Poulter is another name to look out for this week.
Woods will mount his title defense on November 29, hoping to add a fourth victory to his resume in 2012 and finish the season off in style.
