Tiger Woods To “Speak” at Friday Morning Press Conference

It all depends on your definition of “speaking.”
If you define speaking quite literally as audible words coming out of one’s mouth, then yes, Woods will be “speaking” on Friday morning.
If you define speaking as more than reading a statement carefully crafted by a team of lawyers, agents, managers, and PR professionals, then don’t expect too much “speaking” to be done by Woods on Friday morning at the PGA Tour’s headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Woods will address a “small group of friends, colleagues, and close associates”, as described by his agent Mark Steinberg, and “apologize for his behavior.”
He will not field any questions and only a small group of reporters will be allowed to attend.
Woods will more than likely apologize for vaguely described actions, set his return date, and let everyone know that he will try to be a better man in the future.
Don’t expect any juicy details or tears (crocodile or otherwise).
He’ll read, he’ll say thank you, and he’ll leave.

Unfortunately for all you gossip seekers, this is probably as close as we'll get to a “tell-all” from Woods.
On a side note, if you think that the timing of this statement—right smack in the middle of the Accenture Match Play Championship—is a mere coincidence, you might want to think again.
Woods is renowned for his rare ability to hold a grudge for decades.
Whatever minuscule level of attention the Acenture Match Play Championship was going to receive this week without the world’s two most popular players present (Woods and Mickelson) has just been squashed in the palm of Woods’ hands the moment he announced his intention to speak on Friday morning.
