Tiger Woods Says His Game Is Better

Whistling Straits-- Tiger Woods says his game is finally coming around, although his third round score of 72 doesn't indicate that he's all the way back to what everyone expects from him. Today, he felt his putting was still an issue.
“I was playing too much break early,” Tiger Woods said about his recent putting woes. “Every putt I missed on the high side.”
Woods indicated the greens were slower this afternoon. Certainly that makes sense as some golfers finished their second rounds this morning before starting the third after lunch. Mowers were not out between rounds.
He tried to hit the putts harder but added, “ They didn’t really go past the hole”
With regard to what Woods is working on, he said it is just a couple of things right now, but he was not specific.
“I haven’t driven the ball well, except for two weeks this year,” he explained. So no matter how good I hit it, and even then I didn’t putt well those weeks. So ho matter how good I hit it, even though I knocked it on the green or -3-putted and got around the green, I didn’t get up and down. It’s just been one of those years.”
Despite that, he said he is more encouraged than discouraged about his progress.
“ I feel so much better, how I’m hitting the golf ball now. The striking, the sound, the feel, more than anything, it feels good.”
