Tiger Woods: Golf Star Announces Mild Strain of Achilles

Everyone can rest easy now, as it appears that Tiger Woods should be good to go when the Masters Tournament starts on April 5 in Augusta, Georgia.
Today Woods announced via his Twitter account that his pending injury has turned out to be just a mild strain in his Achilles, which should allow him to be back on the links in a few days.
Got good news from doc tonight. Only mild strain of left Achilles. Can resume hitting balls late in week and hopeful for next week.

While that is good news for Woods' immediate future, it is even more important for tournaments down the road, as many hope to see him play in this year's Masters.
The 36-year-old former No. 1 has been in and out of golf as of late due to lingering injuries and personal issues, but he has reemerged onto the scene this season. His last strong showing was at the 2012 Honda Classic, where he stormed back on the final day to just lose to Rory McIlroy by two strokes.
Woods shot a -8 on his final day, which was the first good sign from the former best player in the world in quite some time.
Woods' health seems to be OK from his report, but it will remain to be seen how he will feel as the week dwells on. The Achilles is a new one for Tiger, but hopefully one that won't keep him out of perhaps the most important tournament of the year.
The Masters can survive without Woods, but we all know that it isn't the same tournament without his name climbing up the board.
