Tiger Woods: ‘Despicable He’ Tanked It At Torrey

But there is truth to the fact that Woods tanked it at Torrey last Sunday, and his playing partner, Brendan Steele, agrees.
Steele, a rookie on the PGA Tour, was excited about playing for the first time with Woods, as you might expect.
Steele was elated by the fact that Woods was nice to him, a good thing.
But then when it came evaluation time, when someone from Sports Illustrated's golf site, Golf.com, asked Steele about Woods' effort with that 75 of his on Sunday, Steele simply told the truth.
"I don't think he gave it everything today," Steele said of Woods effort over the final round at the Farmers Insurance Open. "Once it started going in the wrong direction, I don't think it had his full attention."
That's from the witness who was closest to it, one golfer watching another.
And this wasn't the first time. We saw some of that last year and it is the ONE THING that was not in Tiger Woods' makeup for just about his entire career. Say good things or bad things about Tiger Woods, the guy always gave every shot, every thing he had. There was not one ounce of quit in him, ever.
That was then, this is now.
One fuel company used to promote its gasoline by saying, "Put a tiger in your tank."
Well, now there's a Tiger who's gone in the tank. Woods did tank it Sunday. No ifs, ands or buts.
So as Woods struggles through this latest game makeover, it's very apparent that, mentally, this may not be the guy who used to run away with major championships.
He's already said golf is not his top priority. He's told us it's his children, and if they are, then good for him.
Hopefully, when Tiger tanked it last Sunday, he quit thinking about the shot and was thinking about those kids.
