Tiger Woods at Torrey Pines: Horrendous Putting, Rough Outing For The 3rd Round

That is about to change tomorrow.
Tiger struggled with his swing, made a few careless mistakes and shot his way out of the tournament Saturday.
Tiger began the third round only five shots outside of the lead. Today was the day I thought he was going to make his move—the day he finally reestablished his dominance over golf. I was wrong.
Stumbling home in a two-over par 74, Tiger never got any closer than the five-stroke deficit at which he began.
"I did not play well today," Tiger said after the round.
Well, the scorecard tells us that. Lets take a closer look at his game.
Driving
Tiger did not drive the ball well today. In fact, he has not driven the ball well all tournament.
Forget the narrow fairways for a moment. Tiger only his 36 percent of fairways today.
That is awful.
Grade: D
Irons
Tiger's irons were not as sharp as they were in the first couple of rounds. But if you watched him play at all today, you noticed he was fighting his swing all day.
And it showed with Tiger only hitting 56 percent of greens in regulation.
Grade: C-
Wedges
Tiger's wedges may be what really caused him to shoot poorly today.
He dumped a wedge from only 100 yards out into a bunker. From there he could do no better than 20 feet.
That pretty much sums up his wedge play today and for the majority of the tournament.
Grade: D
Putting
Horrendous.
That is the only way I can describe Tiger's putting today. He needed 31 putts. That is an almost astronomical number for a professional.
