Tigers Woods' fast start in the second round of The Barclays from Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, N.J., was marred by some questionable behavior and late struggles before he rallied to finish with a second-round 69 after wrapping up his rain-delayed round on Saturday morning.

He sits at six under for the tournament, five shots back of leader Matt Kuchar.

Following a strong opening-round performance on Thursday, Woods picked up right where he left off on Friday, shooting five consecutive threes—three of which were birdies—to begin the round on fire, per Golf Channel senior writer Jason Sobel:

The three quick birdies pulled Tiger to seven-under par for the tournament, bringing him to within just two shots of the lead at the time.

However, Woods' luck would run out on No. 7, where he was forced to settle for his first bogey of the tournament. He would par the next two holes to close out the front nine, but he appeared to be in pain heading to the back nine.

According to Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman, Tiger's struggles were likely related to his sore back, which looked to be tightening up on him:

The discomfort would follow Woods to the back nine, where he bogeyed No. 10 to fall four back of the lead. Following a few awkward moments on No. 11, as The Advocate columnist Scott Rabalais pointed out, Tiger would bogey the hole to fall even further down the leaderboard:

Thankfully, Woods would stop the bleeding on No. 13, birdieing his first par five of the week to pull to five under for the tournament and one under for the day.

Woods would add a birdie on 17 to end his day at six under, but Kuchar's late birdie would keep Tiger five strokes off the lead as he heads into Saturday afternoon's third round.
