The Masters’ 16th Hole: The "Big Three" Bridge

It has always been a great hole and has been a platform for golf history, but now with the added monuments to Jack and Arnie, and with the seating along the bank, this has truly become a "stage" for golf.
Yes, Jack and Arnie have been honored with plaques in the vicinity of this hole, but quite honestly, these two plaques pale in comparison to the Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson and Gene Sarazen Bridges.
They are basically out of sight from the cameras. Along with Arnie and Jack, three-time Masters champion and nine-time Major champion Gary Player made up the "Big Three" of golf.
Gary Player has yet to be honored at Augusta.
Individually, each has contributed to golf in ways unimaginable. Together, they have blazed a trail for how the game should be played. They have not just been pioneers for the game itself, but they have been icons for sportsmanship and philanthropy.
These three won a combined 13 green jackets in the same era
I believe it is now time to honor these three gentlemen with a bridge crossing the pond at Redbud. This fantastic stage would be made complete if a small portion of the water were excavated just enough to allow a span to connect the tee area to the fairway of this gem.
With the history at the 16th combined with the contributions of the "big three," it would be a win-win situation!
I urge the members of Augusta National to do the right thing—build the stretch this year (while all three players are still with us), and honor them with Masters immortality in a way that is only deserving for these three pioneers!
