Sony Open 2013: Day 3 Leaderboard, Analysis and More

Jones rose eight spots on the leaderboard thanks to a six-under 64 on Saturday. Consecutive bogeys on No. 6 and No. 7 had Jones' status in doubt, but he recovered beautifully. Jones birdied four of his last six holes and five of his last nine to finish the day in a four-way tie for sixth place.
Jones is joined near the top of the leaderboard by fellow Australians Scott Gardiner and Marc Leishman.
Leishman drained nine birdies on the day, but a bogey on No. 2 and double-bogey on No. 6 prevented him from rising higher than 10th. Meanwhile, Gardiner posted a five-under 65, putting him in a tie for fourth place with Charles Howell III.
Speaking of Howell, the American extended an impressive streak at the Sony Open, as the folks at PGA Tour Media pointed out:

— PGA TOUR Media (@PGATOURmedia) January 13, 2013 Although Howell was solid again on Saturday, he is still trailing countrymen Scott Langley and Russell Henley. The two rookies have been phenomenal, as they are tied for the Sony Open's 54-hole record at 17-under.
Henley shot a three-under 67, while Langley's five-under 65 pushed him to the top of the leaderboard.
The two Americans should be considered the favorites heading into Sunday, but there are still several dangerous golfers in the hunt. Here is how the top 10 currently looks.
