Sergio Garcia Withdraws from British Open Qualifying

Garcia, who is currently ranked 73rd in the world, suffered another setback on Monday, as he was forced to withdraw from IFQ-America, which is a British Open Qualifying round, due to an infected finger.
As a result, the Open will be the first major that the Spaniard will not be in the field for since 1999.
Garcia announced his withdrawal on the Twitter account, saying "Unfortunately had to wd from qualifier this morning because of an infected finger nail in my left hand. Couldn't hold the club comfortably."
It's a far cry from 2007, when Garcia had a putt to win the Open Championship, before losing to Padraig Harrington in a playoff.
The Spaniard is still in the field for this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship and he is still eligible for the US Open, if he is able to make the field.
His results may be improving, but Garcia's latest setback is just another sign that El Nino has a long way to go if he wants to get back to the top of his roller coaster career.
