Senior British Open 2014: Convincing Win Proves Bernhard Langer Is King of Tour

Per Justin Ray of the Golf Channel, the win was the largest in Champions Tour history.
On Sunday, Langer punctuated his performance with a five-under 67 to finish 18 under par for the tournament. When Sunday's round was over, Langer was modest, but he acknowledged how well he played.
Per The Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com) Langer said:
The golf course is unbelievably tough. To have this weather for four days is unreal, it's like playing in Florida with a bit of wind. The secret was I didn't make too many mistakes and my driver was very good and my long putting was excellent, although not quite today as I was lacking a little. Perhaps my lead was too big.
Don't think for a second the course was an easy one. Veteran golfer Colin Montgomerie, who finished a distant second, said this after Langer's stellar showing:
This was a brute of a golf course with no wind, never mind with the wind. But what I would like to say is that Bernhard Langer's performance here is one of the golfing performances of all time. And I'd like to say, Rory McIlroy and his group of friends, bring it on here. ... Remarkable, remarkable play and all credit to him.
After this wipeout, what should be made of such a dominating performance by the 56-year-old German? If nothing else, the win proves that on his best four days, Langer could hang with the top players on the PGA and European Tour.
He hasn't played PGA events this year, but if you look at the way he's dominating the Champions Tour, it almost looks as if he's too good to be there.
