Langer Avoids Trouble Late, Finishes Atop Leaderboard
Bernhard Langer made big shot after big shot Saturday at the Senior Open Championship, recording three birdies on the front nine before finally running into some trouble on No. 14.
Langer would bogey the hole but then rallied on No. 15, knocking in his fourth birdie of the round to bring him back to three-under for the day. The two-time Masters champion would birdie No. 17 before the day was through to finish four-under on the day, sparking this bold statement from Taylor Johnson on Twitter:
The ultra consistent 55-year-old will take a two shot lead into Sunday's final round.
Frost Turns Out Another 68, Wiebe Struggles
Much like Langer, South African David Frost has been incredibly consistent at this summer's Senior Open Championship, shooting a two-under 68 in each of the first three rounds, giving himself a chance heading into the final 18 holes of play.
