Rory McIlroy: The US Open Champion Fires Back on Twitter After Harsh Criticism

The young Northern Irishmen said that his father and Woods' experience taught him to be very careful in the public eye as someone is always watching you.
Well, I guess Rory has forgotten his own advice to himself.
Following the first round of the Irish Open, golf commentator and avid "Twitterer" Jay Townsend questioned some of McIlroy's on-course management in route to shooting his 70.
His twitter feed had these comments about Rory's course management today.

Some of the worst course management I have ever seen beyond under 10's boys golf competition
These comments as you can expect did not exactly sit well with McIlroy.
The 22-year-old fired back directly at Townsend with these remarks via his Twitter account @McIloryRory
@JayATownsend shut up.... You're a commentator and a failed golfer, your opinion means nothing!
Though I am sure Rory would have liked to have not said that, he has yet to delete them from his Twitter timeline as of this article.
Some of the criticism was also geared towards McIlroy's caddy JP. As he quickly tweeted he stands by his caddy and their decisions they make on course.
The one thing about these comments from young Rory is that it puts him in a light many fans thought did not exist in him.
He was just the happy-go-lucky youngster from Holywood, Northern Ireland that was a down to earth approachable golfer rather than a stand-offish superstar.
These Twitter posts echo a different, immature young man who perhaps needed to calm down and think before he spoke.
