The world's No. 1 golfer heads into the third round at 15 under par. Play in the second round was suspended due to darkness with Day still needing to complete four holes at 14 under.
Right behind Day is rising star Shane Lowry, who tied the course record with a back nine score of 29 on Thursday, and Jonas Blixt is currently four shots behind Day after shooting back-to-back five-under 67s alongside Alex Cejka and Cameron Tringale.

Saturday's Storylines Jason Day Looks to Stay Hot No player in the history of The Players Championship has been as prolific as Day through 36 holes.
The world No. 1 followed up a nine under showing Thursday with a six under effort that spanned portions of Friday afternoon and Saturday morning following a weather delay, and he now owns sole possession of the 36-hole scoring record at TPC Sawgrass, per ESPN Stats & Info:
Beyond the fact that Day has made light work of Sawgrass, the way in which he's scored has been mind-boggling. According to the PGA Tour's official Twitter account, Day has played a bogey-free tournament thus far:
With a four-shot lead that stands to balloon if he can continue pouring in birdies, Day is without a doubt the man to beat with moving day upon us.
"I need to keep pushing forward," Day said Friday, per the Associated Press (via USA Today). "And the moment that I lose a little bit of focus and make a few mental errors and mistakes, that's when I let the field back in. And I just can't afford to do that."
