Players Championship 2012 Results: Hottest Golfers on Tour After Sawgrass

While several players collapsed under the pressure at TPC (Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Kevin Na), some excelled under the bright spotlight.
The following golfers should feel the best going forward.
Rickie Fowler
The young gun continued his hot streak, finishing tied for second at 11 under. He strung together rounds of 72, 69, 66 and 70 at Sawgrass to continue his ascent up the golfing ladder.
Fowler made things interesting toward the end of the final round, nearly sinking three straight birdies on 16, 17 and 18. Unfortunately, he pushed his putt to the right on 18, giving winner Matt Kuchar a comfortable cushion.
Still, it was an excellent performance from Fowler. Coming off his win last week at the Wells Fargo Championship, it was nice to see him build on his success.
Ben Curtis
Curtis has been on fire lately, finishing 14th or better in four PGA events this season. He's also got three top-10 finishes in his last four events, including his win at the Valero Texas Open in April.
At Sawgrass, Curtis finished tied with Fowler, Zach Johnson and Martin Laird for second. He was consistent throughout, posting scores of 68, 71, 70 and 68.
In the final round, he had a ridiculous eight birdies, but a double-bogey on the eighth hole ultimately ruined his chances at winning.
Matt Kuchar
Kuchar cooled down a bit after his third-place finish at the Masters, coming in 44th and 13th in his next two events.
However, he rebounded perfectly at TPC. Kuchar had rounds of 68, 68, 69 and 70 to win by two strokes. He putted well and hit 73.6 percent of his greens in regulation on his way to a final score of 13 under.
