PGA Tour Championship 2012: Phil Mickelson and the Biggest Disappointments

After successful performances at the BMW Championship, these three golfers came up empty this weekend.

Phil Mickelson (+1)
After finishing tied for second overall in the BMW Championship, Phil Mickelson followed up with an extremely disappointing performance at the PGA Tour Championship.
It was his middle rounds that killed him, as he began the tournament by keeping pace with a 69, but he posted scores of 71 and 72 in Rounds 2 and 3, respectively, to end his hopes of a title.
Not even a 69 on the last day of the tournament was enough to save Mickelson, who birdied four holes but bogied three in his final round.
Adam Scott (+3)
After shooting a 68 in the first round, including five birdies, Adam Scott increasingly sank to the bottom of the leaderboard as the rounds continued this weekend.
After shooting a 73 on Friday, Scott posted a 70 and 72 in the final two rounds, dropping him toward the middle of the field.
It was quite a disheartening performance for Scott, who finished tied for sixth in the BMW Championship at 16-under.
Lee Westwood (+15)
Lee Westwood was undoubtedly the most deceiving player in the Tour Championship.
After tying Mickelson for No. 2 in the BMW Championship tournament at 18-under, Westwood was just absolutely dismal at East Lake.
It was pretty much over before it started for Westwood, as he shot a 72 in the first round, which turned out to be his lowest-scoring round. He followed it up with a 73, 76 and 74 to find himself at the very bottom of the leaderboard.
