PGA Championship Leaderboard 2015: Updating Results and Standings for Friday

Thursday's opening round was a bit odd for some recognizable faces. Jordan Spieth's epic tear cooled with a 71, placing him five shots off the lead. Ditto for running mate Rory McIlroy, although most expected early struggles as he made his way back from injury.
Still, things are far from conclusive, and the lead isn't insurmountable by any means. With a pseudo warm-up round out of the way, expect things to become even more bunched on the leaderboard as Friday progresses. Here's a look at an ever-updating leaderboard, followed by some of Friday's top names to watch.
Top Golfers to Watch Friday
Dustin Johnson
Everyone remembers Dustin Johnson for the rough finish at the U.S. Open in which he tied for second, but perhaps more devastating was the tie for 49th at the Open Championship.
Johnson looks back to form at the season's final major, though, thanks the to five birdies and an eagle on No. 16 which gave him an opening-round 66. As ESPN Stats & Info detailed, he made history as a result:
A simple sentence from Johnson about the day's action said it all, via Bill Pennington of the New York Times: “Today was pretty easy, I have to say.”
The key for Johnson now becomes keeping the chill attitude and strong form through Friday, which has been an issue at previous majors, to say the least.
It's important to keep in mind that the last time Johnson played this tournament (2013), he shot his way to a tie for eighth. The last time the tournament was at this course, he posted a career-best tie for fifth.
Given history and recent form, Johnson isn't one to ignore. He might have a prolonged stay at the top of the leaderboard.
