PGA Championship 2016 Round 3 Suspended Due to Weather

Golfers will complete or start their third rounds Sunday morning at 7 a.m. ET, weather permitting. Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb remain the leaders at nine under, two strokes ahead of Emiliano Grillo and Jason Day. The final five groups were unable to complete a single hole.
Jordan Spieth carded a par on No. 1 as part of the last pair to get a hole in.
Kevin Kisner, who totaled a five-under 65 in favorable conditions early in the round, is the clubhouse leader at five under overall. Padraig Harrington trails Kisner by one stroke for the clubhouse lead.
"You keep it in the fairway; you can attack," Kisner told gathered reporters after his round. "The course is receptive enough; you can make a lot of birdies."
Overall, only 37 of the 86 golfers remaining in the tournament completed their third round. More than half of the field sits at even par or better.
"The rain really changed the way it's played," Phil Mickelson told reporters of how weather has affected the course. "It's taken a lot of the fire and speed out of the greens. It's always softened the fairways to where the ball will stay in the fairways. You are going to hit a lot of fairways."
Unfortunately, it's looking unlikely that we'll get a clean finish Sunday. The current Weather.com report is calling for an 80 percent chance of rain with thunderstorms. There is at least a 50 percent chance of rain beginning at 4 a.m. ET and continuing all the way to 9 p.m. Sunday evening. While it's possible to play through some rain, the forecast is calling for consistent thunderstorms—a safety hazard for players and fans.
