Paul Casey Making Headlines for All the Right Reasons

Unlike a certain fellow professional golfer, his headlines are due to his outstanding play and his contributions to better a place he has grown fond of.
Today Casey, along with his wife Jocelyn, announced that they would be making a $100,000 donation to a Houston charity. Casey promised to contribute to local charities after winning the 2009 Shell Houston Open, and he made sure that was one promise he is not willing to break.
The specific charity has not yet been named, however, it has been reported that Casey will make the decision alongside Shell Houston Open Tournament Direction Steve Timms. Casey announced he will be donating through the Houston Golf Association, the organization responsible for running the tournament.
This generous contribution comes off the heels of Casey's second straight runner-up finish in the WGC-Accenture Match Play last week in Arizona. Casey was able to put together a great run, including an epic win over Camillo Villegas, to advance to the final against the red-hot Ian Poulter. However, Casey fell short to Poulter's brilliant play.
To see such a high profile international golfer make such a sizable donation to a place that has embraced him is very refreshing with the recent headlines surrounding the world of golf.
Casey is certainly making strides to becoming a great player on the course, but it seems like he is as adamant to become a great philanthropist off the links.
Since Casey showed up to Arizona State, everyone could tell the kid from Surrey was bound to be a superstar, and he proved them right after finishing his career with three consecutive Pac-10 Titles.
When he turned professional in 2000, everyone knew the kid was going to shine on the grandest stages of golf, and he has accumulating 11 wins worldwide and rising to No. 6 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
