Northern Trust Open 2013: Dates, Times, Players to Watch and More

Riviera Country Club will play host to the 2013 Northern Trust Open this weekend. With its rich history and challenging setup, the tournament should prove to be as eventful as ever.
It will be hard to top Bill Haas’ sudden-death playoff finish of a year ago, but a field of 135 of the world’s best golfers will give it a shot. We’ll take a look at some of the golfers looking to take home the title this year, as well as the schedule and course layout.

Players to Watch
Bill Haas
Haas took down the title last year, and he’ll look to defend it in his pursuit of the $1.2 million first prize.
Haas currently ranks No. 36 in the world golf rankings, and the 30-year-old is coming off top-10 finishes in his last two tournaments. He tied for sixth at the Waste Management Phoenix Open almost two weeks ago.
Phil Mickelson
Mickelson has won the Northern Trust Open twice in his illustrious career, and he just missed a third title last year when he and Keegan Bradley lost to Haas in a playoff.
