NCAA Men’s Golf Championships 2016: Results, Leaderboard Standings from Saturday

The format consists of three days of stroke play for the teams before the field is reduced to the top 15 schools. The top eight programs will then engage in match play after Monday's fourth round to determine a national champion.

Arkansas started off in the lead after posting a two-over mark Friday, but the first-round leaderboard looked a little different than Saturday, as the NCAA showed:
The Razorbacks cooled off Saturday and now sit three shots off the lead. Arkansas is a surprising contender, as it is ranked outside the top 20, according to GolfStatResults.com.
On the contrary, Stanford has been a colossal disappointment. The Cardinal entered the championships as the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, but the school is toiling near the bottom of the pack. There is still a day of play remaining, but Stanford looks to be essentially eliminated from advancing to the next stage.
TCU also struggled immensely Saturday. The Horned Frogs were contenders after Round 1, but the team shot a dreadful 19-over to seemingly knock itself out.
On the individual side, San Diego State's Nahum Mendoza III relinquished his Day 1 lead, as he is now a shot back at four under. USC freshman Justin Suh is now the man to beat, but others are on his tail, per NCAA associate director of media services Rick Nixon:
At No. 8, Robby Shelton is the highest-ranked golfer in the top three. Stanford's Maverick McNealy, the top-ranked golfer in the nation, sits all the way down in a tie for 93rd with a one-over mark thus far.
