Michelle Wie at Women’s British Open 2014: Daily Scores and Leaderboard Updates

The U.S. Open champion couldn't do anything right on the front nine, racking up for bogeys. She did get better after making the turn with a birdie on 12 and 14, but a bogey on 14 and double-bogey on 16 ended any hope she had of making it to the weekend.
She finished Friday with a six-over 78, putting her at nine over for the tournament with a projected cut line at six-over.
Here's a closer look at Wie's scorecard for Day 2:
Wie never got her feet under her in this event, starting with a three-over par 75 on Thursday and imploding to six-over 78 on Friday.
The American star didn't sound comfortable after the first round, telling reporters, via ESPN.com, that she was off:
I definitely felt like my tempo was a little bit off. But it's a long way until Sunday, and I battled out there. It's not the score I was looking forward to on Thursday, but it could have been a lot worse.
Wie didn't rest on her laurels and considerable talent to get back in contention. Golf Juice TV tweeted a picture of her on the practice range:
Unfortunately it wasn't enough for Wie. She will head home for the weekend looking for answers coming off the biggest win of her career last month at the U.S. Open.
Wie had a tough opening day at the Women's British Open, recording a finish of three-over to fall well off the pace during Round 1.
The prodigious American could only tie for 39th place upon her return to the clubhouse, making two birdies during her whole round.
