Memorial Tournament 2012: Tiger Woods’ Magical Win Means Nothing in Long Run

Sure, Tiger tied the legendary Jack Nicklaus' 73 all-time wins. Yes, it was Tiger's second win in less than three full months. And yes, he had to come from behind and rally to actually make it happen.
All in all, Tiger looked like the old Tiger again—fist pump and all.
But like the Arnold Palmer Invitational win at Bay Head in late March, Tiger's been here and done this before. Tiger's won the Arnold Palmer and Memorial a combined 12 times in his career—four times in the last four years in fact.
There is one common theme with those wins though, other than the wins coming in back-to-back fashion, and it is one Tiger wants no part of.
Tiger's won eight tournaments in the last four years, but none have been majors.
Getting back to winning ways is important, but throughout his slump in the last several years he has still found a way to win these tournaments.
Tiger's rallying, come-from-behind win here is just another "W" on his epic list of wins. All wins are great, but the things that matter most to Tiger come around only four times a year.
In 10 days time the US Open tees off and that is when wins mean something. Unfortunately, Tiger hasn't been able to capitalize on tune up wins in recent years.
If he doesn't do it this time around this fifth Memorial win will be just another on a long list.
