Rahman Opens Door for Wang Late On With a confident Wang in pursuit, this was always going to be a big test of Rahman’s mental strength on the final day. And the 31-year-old kept things together early on at the Four Seasons Golf Club.
As has been the case for much of this tournament, the vast majority of the players found the windy conditions too tough to handle, meaning those who played solid golf would see their position strengthen.
Rahman was able to do exactly that. After dropping a shot at the third, he responded tremendously with back-to-back birdies at the fifth and sixth, eventually going through the front nine in 35. Meanwhile, Wang was toiling, as two bogeys and a birdie saw him fall three shots back at the turn. Nicolas Colsaerts was also finding the conditions tough to master, with a front nine of 40, which included two double-bogeys, posted.
