Masters Live Coverage Day 1: Tiger Woods Takes the Course as Others Set Tone

Tiger Woods is on the course and now the fun starts.
Woods got par on the first hole where Retief Goosen made eagle earlier in the day. Tiger has historically done well at Augusta National so it's going to be very interesting to see how his game, which has seriously struggled of late, holds up on the biggest stage in golf.
While Tiger gets his round started, others have set the bar in earlier action. Ross Fisher has come out of the gate on fire and is four-under-par after 13. Goosen, propelled by his eagle, is also at four-under through five holes and is looking like the strongest contender in early action.
Another player lurking is the young Rory McIlroy, who is three-under-par through five holes and is trying to erase the memory of last year's Masters, where he didn't make the cut. I like McIlroy's chances in this tournament. There's not a lot of pressure on him to succeed and clearly it's doing wonders for him. I worry about his ability to respond if he's near the top of the leaderboard by the end of the day, but for now, he looks like a strong contender.
Phil Mickelson still hasn't taken the course as his tee time isn't for a couple of hours, but once he takes the course, things should have really heated up by then and we should have an idea of what Lefty will have to shoot to be in contention early on.
There's great weather at Augusta right now, as it's sunny without a cloud in the sky. It's great golfing weather and the scores are starting to reflect that. I'm looking for a pretty low scoring day among the top players in today's field.
It should be a fun day to say the least.
