Masters Leaderboard: Rory McIlroy Mature Beyond His Years

Even if it's by four strokes, there is a great danger in assuming a 54-hole lead will hold up for another 18.
Conventional wisdom suggests that's even truer when the lead is held by a 21-year-old with no major championships to his credit.
But all week at Augusta National, the experts have talked about the impressive maturity of Rory McIlroy. On the Golf Channel yesterday, John Feinstein said (paraphrasing) that he was a 21-year-old with a 35-year-old's nerves.
Now as pressure-packed as the first three rounds of the Masters (or any major) are, on Sunday, everything is amplified ten-fold.
McIlroy finished third at last year's British Open, but that was largely because he entered the final round with no pressure and shot a 68. And at the 2009 PGA he was pretty far behind on Sunday before climbing up to third.
But he was a major factor on the last day at Whistling Straits last year during the PGA. He was tied for second (three strokes back) on Sunday and shot a pretty disappointing even par 72: Anything under par would have landed him in the playoff.
That experience seems to have served him well, as he said this week. But it's something else he said that suggests he'll complete the wire-to-wire victory today. He's told the press that he's not concerned with how others (including Tiger Woods) play Sunday; he's worried about himself and no one else.
With a four stroke and a great attitude, I like him to hang on and win by a few.
