Masters 2013: Impressive Performances Overshadowed by Epic Final Round Playoff

Two 23-year-olds stepped up on Sunday to finish towards the top, while a veteran rallied to post the day's top score.
Below we'll revisit a trio of spectacular performances that were overshadowed by Sunday's thrilling finish on the 10th hole at Augusta.
Rory McIlroy
After coming completely unraveled in Saturday's third round, shooting a seven-over 79, two-time major champion Rory McIlory fought back on Sunday, picking up four birdies to finish with a three-under 69—a 10-stroke improvement from his third-round performance.
A huge favorite coming into the 2013 Masters, McIlroy's two double bogeys on the back nine Saturday put the green jacket well out of reach, but that didn't stop him from playing one of the best rounds on Sunday.
While McIlroy was too far back to warrant any attention in the final round, he was one of the day's biggest movers, rising up 19 spots from 44th to finish tied for 25th.
That's quite an impressive accomplishment for the world No. 2 just hours after a hideous third-round effort.
Thorbjorn Olesen
Twenty-three-year-old Dane Thorbjorn Olesen shocked the golf universe this past weekend with his sixth place finish at the year's first major.
Olesen, playing the Masters for the first time, shot a six-over 78 on Day 1, but quickly discovered his rhythm, shooting under par the rest of the way, even posting back-to-back four-under 68s on Saturday and Sunday to finish right alongside Brandt Snedeker in the top 10.
