Recap It was Lagergren who applied the pressure early, striking two birdies from the first three holes on the front nine. However, a pair of bogeys transitioned the Swede awkwardly from the front to the back nine.
He recovered well to hit another birdie, this one at the par-five 11th. Lagergren then produced an exquisite chip shot to seal par at the 12th.
The European Tour's official site relayed highlights of the deft stroke:
It was a strong comeback after those back-to-back bogeys. He then went three-under after another birdie on the 14th.
However, a bogey at the 15th summed up Lagergren's erratic back nine. It also let Dredge back into the lead.
Lagergren soon found himself in trouble again when he was in a bunker on the par-three 16. But another suave chip gave him a great chance for par, an opportunity he seized. It put Lagergren one shot behind Dredge in the overall standings.
That was as close as he got, though, because a pair of bogeys bracketed that par and sent him sliding down the board. Lagergren was off the mark on both the par-four 15 and the par-four 17.
Day 2 leader Dredge had his own eventful day. One of the Welshman's more notable moments came when he produced a literal shock driving off from the 12th:
That misfortune resulted in a double bogey on the hole. A birdie at the 14th got Dredge back on track, but he needed a few more of those over the final four...
