Lydia Ko and Jiyai Shin Share Lead in Women’s Australian Open

Ko, the 15-year-old phenom, has won on the Ladies Asian Tour, the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA.
She has been the No. 1 ranked women’s amateur in the world for two years and won three major amateur events in 2012, including the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
Ko led after the first round with her 10-under-par 63. She posted a second-round 69, and her third-round 70 brings her to 17-under par and tied for the lead with Jiyai Shin.
Shin has been on the LPGA Tour since 2009 and is a former world No. 1. She has 10 LPGA Tour titles, has won 21 Korean LPGA events and has five Japan LPGA victories. She also has two major trophies on her mantle from the Women’s British Open in 2008 and 2012.
Shin is no stranger to being on top of LPGA leaderboards. In 2012, she had two wins and eight top-10 finishes, won $1.2 million and finished No. 7 on the LPGA Tour money list.
Ko and Shin are six shots clear of second-place Beatriz Recari, who is at 11-under par.
How will the young amateur Ko fare against the veteran Shin in the final round?
The third round of the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open can be seen on the Golf Channel on Saturday, Feb. 16, 3-6 p.m. EST, and the final round will be aired on the Golf Channel Sunday, Feb. 17, 3-6:30 p.m. EST.
